Preventing a Core from connecting
Currently supported Rapid Recovery Cores connect automatically to the QorePortal if all of the following conditions are true:
- If running Rapid Recovery Core release 6.2 or later; if you agreed to Quest's privacy policy; and if you are using a standard phone-home license.
- If running Rapid Recovery Core versions earlier than release 6.2; if you have successfully installed the QorePortal plug-in; if you agreed to Quest's privacy policy; and if you are using a standard phone-home license.
Sharing your Core, protected machine, and repository information with the portal is optional. For any Core version, if you do not want to send information about your Core to the portal, then do one of the following:
- On the Settings page of the Core Console, set "Enable connection to QorePortal" to No.
- When installing Rapid Recovery Core 6.2 or later, on the Privacy Policy page, select "I do not accept this use of personal data."
- On the Settings page of the Core Console, set "Agree to use of personal data" to No.
Note: If you decline to share personal data with Quest, you cannot use the automatic update feature of Rapid Recovery, nor can you use the QorePortal. You must also obtain and upload to your Core a non-phone-home license. For more information, see the Rapid Recovery User Guide.
