Modifying or removing a tag
This procedure describes how to update or remove an existing tag. For instructions to add a tag, even if the QorePortal object already has at least one tag, see Adding a tag.
To modify or remove an existing tag, perform the following steps:
- Navigate to the page that shows objects in list view. For example, to modify or remove a repository, go to the Repositories page under Systems.
- Click the More menu for the selected object, and then select Update tags.
The Update tags dialog box page appears.
- In the Update tags dialog box, do one of the following:
- To remove a tag, click the x next New tag box. Repeat this step for any other tags for this object that you want to remove.
For this example, assume there are three tags, one for each office location: Mumbai, New York, and Tokyo. To remove the Tokyo tag, click the x to the right of "Tokyo." It is removed from the dialog box.
- In the Update tags dialog box, to update a tag, remove it, and then add the updated tag name.
Note: As a best practice, avoid using any of the following special characters: " / [ : ] ; | = , + * <
Continuing the previous example, if you want to change the "New York" tag to "NY," click the x to the right of "New York."Then type "NY" into the new tag text box.
- To remove a tag, click the x next New tag box. Repeat this step for any other tags for this object that you want to remove.
- After you have made all necessary modifications, click Update tags.
The changes to your tags are saved, and the dialog box closes. A few seconds later, the page refreshes, showing your updated tags.
