About the Replication Report
The Replication Report provides information about the protected machines you replicate between Rapid Recovery Cores.
Replication includes a minimum of two Cores (the source Core on which your machine is protected, and the target Core that holds the replicated data). This report provides information reported by both Cores, and the statistics reflect that accordingly.
For example, for simple point-to-point replication, this table contains a row for each machine on the source Core that is replicated.
For these records, the "Core Server" column lists the originating source Core; the "Related Core Server" column shows the receiving target Core;
and the "Task type" reads "Replication."
Another row exists in the table for each replicated machine.
The "Core Server" column shows the target Core; the "Related Core Server" column shows the source Core from which the information is replicated;
and the "Task type" reads "Remote Replication."
If replicating from point to multipoint (replicating to two different target Cores),
one record exists for the source Core, and two records are listed, one for each target Core.
The report uses for its default data the set of Cores and protected and replicated machines accessible to the logged-in user's root organization and all sub-organizations. Time period, organization, and machines shown in the report are all configurable parameters.
The Replication Report consists of the following three pages.
Analysis
The Analysis page of the Replication Report is where you can run or schedule a report. For more information, see Creating a report schedule. This page also shows the report results.
There are three criteria available for narrowing the scope of the report:
- Time Period. When running a report, from this drop-down list you can select a time period defining the start and end time for data to be displayed in the report.
Note: For clear definitions of each time period option, see Working with time periods in the topic Working with QorePortal reports.
Local times are converted to Coordinated Universal Time (UTC).
Note: To understand the effect of UTC date conversion on the returned data set, see Understanding dates shown in QorePortal reports in the topic Working with QorePortal reports.
- Organizations. Based on your root group, from this drop-down list you can select one or more organizations to define the scope of the report.
Note: For more information, see Working with organizations in the topic Working with QorePortal reports.
- Machines. From this drop-down list, you can choose the replicated machines to include in your report. The default is to include all of the machines in the found set (defined by the other search criteria). This option lets you clear any machines that you do not want to include in the report.
The results of the report appear as follows:
- The Summary shows the following data:
- Machines. The total number of replicated machines and Cores included in the report for the selected report criteria.
- Core Servers. The total number of Core servers included in the report for the selected report criteria.
Transmitted. The sum total amount of data transmitted for all outgoing replication jobs for the selected report criteria. This value corresponds to the sum of all Transmitted data values (shown in the Rapid Recovery Core Console when monitoring outgoing replication from source Cores only). - Successful. The sum total of all successful replication transfers for all replicated machines included in the selected report criteria.
- Failed. The sum total of all failed replication attempts for the selected report criteria.
- The Replications (UTC) graph is a stacked bar summary chart of replication transfers. It shows on the Y axis the number of replication attempts. The X axis shows, by date, replication activity. The legend across the top of the reportlet shows by percentage and count the number of successful replication attempts, warning messages, and errors for replication activity over the selected report criteria (time period, organizations, and machines). As indicated in the title, dates and times shown are converted to UTC.
- The Replication Statistics by Machines table includes one row of data for each source or target Core included in the selected report criteria. For example, for simple point-to-point replication, one row appears for the source Core, and one row appears for the target Core . If replicating from point to multipoint (replicating from one Source Core to two different target Cores), one record exists for the source Core, and two records are listed, one for each target Core. If any of those Cores are not included in the selected report criteria, the corresponding row does not appear in this matrix.
- For each machine included in a replication transfer, the following information is included:
- Machine. The IP address or name of the replicated machine.
- Core Server. For a row representing the source Core, this information shows the source Core containing the protected machine. For a row representing the target Core, this data represents the target Core server.
- Related Core Server. For a row representing the target Core, this data represents the target Core server. For a row representing the source Core, this data represents the source Core server. If the target Core is not part of the selected user's group, this shows as Unknown Core.
- Task Type. For a row representing the original machine (on the source Core), the task type shows the value "Replication." For a row representing the replicated machine on the target Core, the "Task type" shows the value "Remote Replication."
- Transferred. For the selected replicated machine, this figure corresponds to the Total Work statistic on the Rapid Recovery Core. It represents the amount of protected data on the source Core to be transferred as part of replication to the target Core. This figure does not take deduplication into account.
- Transmitted. For the selected replicated machine, this figure represents in GB the actual amount of unique data transmitted over the network. This figure is smaller than the prior column to reflect space savings gained through deduplication, and metadata that was not required to be transferred.
- Successful. Represents the number of successful replication transfers for the selected report criteria.
- Failed. Represents the number of failed replication transfers for the selected report criteria.
- Last Failed (UTC). Shows the date of the last replication failure for the selected report criteria. If none, "-" is shown.
- Last Successful (UTC). Shows the date of the last successful replication transfer for the selected report criteria. If none, "-" is shown.
Saved reports
The Saved Reports page of the Replication Reports area is where you can view or delete any Replication Reports that you chose to save. The portal stores reports in order by creation date.
Schedules
The Schedules page stores the scheduled reports created by following the procedure in Creating a report schedule. Here, you can edit schedules and delete them.
